Dr. Stella Pinkney Jones is the co-founder and owner of Stella Jones Gallery, the preeminent gallery in the South representing exclusively artists of the African Diaspora. Stella Jones Gallery opened in 1996, as the culmination of a dream of Dr. Jones and her late husband, Harry Wade Jones. Dr. Jones has been instrumental in organizing and providing art for national and international exhibitions that have served as ambassadors to the importance of Black art. She also believes strongly in the power of education, which was impressed upon her and her six siblings by her hard-working parents during her youth in Texas. Dr. Jones, along with her four children co-funds an endowed UNCF scholarship in honor of the life and art of New Orleans native artist, John Scott, for African-American students enrolled in certain Louisiana historically black universities. Stella Jones Gallery is one of the most successful and prominent art galleries in New Orleans, LA.



2. Loretta’s Authentic Pralines

Loretta's Authentic Pralines has been in business for over 35 years. Loretta was the first African American woman to successfully own and operate her own praline company in New Orleans. Today, Loretta’s Authentic Pralines is a thriving business with two locations. For Loretta, success continues with the recent opening of another business venture HE-brews Coffeehouse in the Fabourg Marigny.

Loretta has made appearances on numerous television and radio shows, as well as guest speaker at various business events. In the social arena, Loretta also thrives where she continuously gives back. She has won numerous awards for her contribution to the economic success of New Orleans, service to her community, and her philanthropist spirit. The Harrison firmly believes that if you “put God first, He will grant the wishes of your heart.

Hubbard Mansion Bed and Breakfast, an elegant Greek revival home, features five guest rooms with suite combinations providing modern luxuries in the spirit of historic style and elegance. All rooms are furnished with period antiques and precious heirlooms.


Don and the late Rose Hubbard built The Mansion over 15 years ago and modeled the facade after a Natchez, Mississippi Mansion, located on the Natchez Bluffs at the southern end of the Old Spanish Promenade Grounds overlooking the Mississippi River.



4. Malibukini’s Boutique & Beauty Bar

Malibu Kini’s is a One Stop Shop located in the heart of New Orleans. They have professional makeup artists, and lash technicians that take walk-ins and appointments. Malibu Kini’s also has a Shoe vendor called Bellasoles. Most importantly Malibu Kini’s Boutique has Swimwear, Active wear and high end fashion and an affordable price.
